One of the most important factors of all is the warm, personal care you will experience at Memorial Hospital as you welcome your baby. Your physician and OB nurses are well-trained professionals who share in the excitement of your new family. Our nurses are certified in Neonatal Advanced Life Support.

Prenatal Care
Begin prenatal care during your first trimester by visiting your physician. Continue visits as suggested by your physician - you're taking care of new life!
The following topics will be discussed to give you and your baby a great start:
- Understanding your pregnancy
- Conscious relaxation, breathing exercise, coaching tools
- Labor and delivery process
- Pain management
- Fetal monitoring, induction, episiotomy
- Cesarean birth
- Baby care
- Development of your personalized birthing plan
Each new mom receives the book Great Expectations along with other helpful literature.
Continuing Care
The birth of a child is one of life's most cherished and amazing events. We are here for you, close to home. Additional Obstetric Services:
- Our staff is on hand to answer questions and provide reassurance, both while you are in the hospital and after you go home
- Meals for father/partner during your hospital stay
- New Mom Menu
- Certified child safety seat consultants to provide training on use of your child-restraint device
- A New Beginning video
- Newborn gift basket which includes books, sleeper, blanket, piggy bank, snacks for siblings/new dad and much more
- Finally, to ensure the continuity of your care, one of our OB nurses will check on you with a follow-up phone call after you and your baby have been discharged
