Benefits of Nutrition Therapy
Through the selection of different foods, individuals can improve many medical conditions. It can lead to decreased need for medications and enhance overall lifestyle. During your visit with a registered dietitian nutritionist, you can expect discussion to include current eating habits, your personal goals for nutrition and general questions about nutrition you may like to have answered. Setting and monitoring short term goals can help achieve the desired results for optimum health.
How to Receive Nutrition Therapy
Registered dietitian nutritionists provide nutrition services to patients who are referred by their physician. They work with the medical team to assess your needs and develop a care plan.
Medical Nutrition Therapy may be covered by Medicare and some commercial insurance, and must be ordered by a physician to be covered. An appointment with a registered dietitian nutritionist may also be scheduled on a private pay basis.
