The Radiology Department is staffed by registered and state licensed radiology technologists. State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and availability of digital results ensure that patients receive high quality radiological diagnostics and expedient results.

All radiological services require medical orders from a physician, with the exception of screening mammograms for patients of our MHCS providers. Please contact Radiology at 402-643-2971 for additional information.

Available Services

Radiography

An x-ray where a low dose of radiation passes through the body to produce images that are used to detect certain problems with bones, joints, and various organs like the heart and lungs.

Fluoroscopy

An imaging technique that produces real-time moving images of internal structures through the use of a fluoroscope.

Ultrasound

General ultrasound services provided at MHCS include sonograms to visualize abdominal and pelvic organs as well as soft tissues and blood vessels. Obstetrical ultrasounds of all stages of pregnancy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound guided procedures are also part of the General Ultrasound Department.

Nuclear Medicine Scans

A type of medical imaging that uses radioactive isotopes to measure the extent of a disease process in the body. Some types of tests are bone scans, gallbladder and liver scans, and stress testing of the heart.

Cardiolite Stress Testing

Assesses how well blood is flowing to the heart muscle and also how well the walls of the heart are moving and, thus, pumping the blood.

CT Scan

Combines x-rays and computer scans that produce detailed pictures showing problems with soft tissues (such as the lining of sinuses), organs (such as the kidneys, lungs, liver), and bones. Coronary Calcium Screening CT Scan detects the presence of calcium in your coronary arteries used to evaluate the level of heart disease and your risk of a heart attack.

PET Scans (mobile)

A diagnostic test used to examine organs such as the heart, brain, and other body tissues. Rather than showing the structure of a body part, PET images show metabolic changes in the anatomical context of the body, which assists the physician in determining the extent of a problem and identifying treatment options.

3D Mammography

X-ray exam of breast tissue. The image produced is a mammogram that provides an extremely clear image of breast tissue and identifies problems such as cysts or tumors.

Memorial Health Care Systems is proud to offer Breast Tomosynthesis or 3D Mammography - the most advanced technology in breast cancer detection.

Bone Density / DEXA

Measures the amount of calcium in the bone by taking two low-dose images of the spine and hip or wrist. The images are processed on a computer to identify possible osteoporosis or osteopenic disease.

MRI (mobile)

Produces images of the body's internal structures by passing radio waves through a powerful magnetic field. Good for imaging soft tissues in the body including the brain, nerves, muscles, and organs.
